Support SCIL

Solution Graphics

Last year, SCIL responded to nearly 6,500 requests for information and referral which resulted in nearly 1,000 in-depth on-going cases with individuals with disabilities to assist them in reaching their goals in living independently in the community and in their own homes. More information can be found in our 2010 Annual Report

SCIL provides independent living programs at no charge for individuals with all disabilities based on our mission: "to promote a barrier-free environment for all individuals with disabilities through public education and advocacy for social change, and to provide a full range of independent living services which will assist in progressing toward his or her goals for independence."

Because disabilities are so prevalent in our area, over 15% of the population (Source: US Census), the waiting lists and attendance to our programs continue to grow. As a result, we need your help in providing these valuable programs for those who cannot access or obtain on their own.

  • Assist with the purchase of assistive devices and equipment
  • Installation and donation of ADA regulation wooden ramps or wheelchair lifts
  • Transition and deinstitutionalization for individuals with disabilities to move into the community with home and community based assistance
  • Transportation to and from the center for peer support group attendees
  • Youth enrichment experiences and life skill training for Your Life, youth with disabilities group
