RAMPS - Renovations and Modifications Projects Photo Gallery

Renovations and Modifications Projects (RAMPS) provides accessibility modifications for low income people with disabilities. Since 1991, RAMPS has successfully assisted hundreds of low income people with disabilities by building wooden wheelchair ramps, widening doorways for wheelchairs, modifying bathrooms and showers and installing grab bars in their homes.

Last year the RAMPS program built 56 ramps (25 were built by volunteers), and provided nearly 70 other modifications. Today, we have nearly 100 people waiting for a wooden wheelchair ramp alone and an additional 100 needing other modifications. Without the ability to safely enter or leave their homes, these people with disabilities risk being trapped in the event of an emergency, risk injury if they do try to leave and at minimum they are cut off from family, friends and the community. Making these types of modifications creates more self-sufficiency for consumers and often helps them avoid having to move into a nursing home or other facility.

We need funding for materials, tools and labor costs to provide more people with disabilities access to the world that many of us take for granted. In addition we have many volunteer opportunities available for individuals and groups who want to build or learn to build ramps.
